Hilarious Attendance Memes For Anyone Who’s Ever Had to Show Up
We’ve all been there. The alarm blares at 6 AM, and you’re faced with that age-old dilemma: drag yourself out of bed or hit snooze just one more time.
Regardless of your job, attendance binds us all in collective suffering and humor when trying to clock in before our manager notices.
Attendance memes are the internet’s way of saying, “You’re not alone in this struggle.” They are also a manager’s way of calling people out without attaching any shame to it.
If the memes I attached here don’t appeal to you, I’ll teach you how to create your own with AI, too. 😉Follow along.
Attendance memes
Pictures say more than words alone ever could. More than just laughs, these shareable gems serve double duty: they lighten the workplace mood while subtly reinforcing the importance of showing up. Drop them into your next meeting invite or in your team chat to remind your team to be on time and actually be part of a meeting.
After all, nothing builds camaraderie quite like acknowledging that, yes, we all mentally calculate the minimum attendance required to pass that course or keep our jobs.
Let’s crack on!
1. Attendance memes to log time
It all starts with setting the scene. Unless you’re letting our team know that they need to fill out timesheets yet again this week, this action might slip through the cracks. Sheldon Cooper, Darth Vader, or Liam Neeson will spark some good laughs and “spoof” the tension around tracking time and attendance. So give them a try!
Tip: Another almost magical thing that would spoof the tension around tracking attendance, and also remove the task of attaching memes to emails or Slack chats, is an automated time tracker. This magical wand would record your team’s work in the background and generates reminders for them to track attendance.
2. Meeting attendance memes
You’ll always have those people in your team who are always late to meetings, or those people who simply hate meetings. Yes, it’s best to keep meetings to a minimum and leave time for deep work, but you still need to bring them into some calls, ideally, with smiles on their faces.
Jokes aside, unnecessary meetings take up 21.5 hours of someone’s work time in a week, and studies prove that 71% of these are unproductive.
Here’s an attendance meme I generated with ChatGPT that you can send when your meeting has already started, but some team members have not joined.
Another example is that you might send this meme with a copy like: “The 3 PM meeting is important. Don’t say I didn’t let you know. That’s not the type of meme I’d like to see today.”
4. Payroll attendance memes
The brutal reality is that people don’t get paid unless they send their attendance. So, show them that it’s not only you who keeps on annoying them to send their attendance, but your HR team needs these for payroll review.
5. Mood-based attendance memes
You need to show empathy to your team and check how they’re feeling about attending some meetings, doing some work before holidays, and other things. We’re all human, and sometimes, attendance and tight deadlines on the Friday before Christmas might not be the best idea. Use mood scales or pop culture to check in with them. Also, if you’re a teacher, this might be a great way of showing your students that you get them; you know that they’re tired on this day, and you’re empathizing with them.
6. Acknowledge when your team sends their attendance
Acknowledging the MVPS that are on top of their attendance creates a culture where doing things on time matters. This culture will impact respecting deadlines, getting on time in meetings or at the office, or filling in timesheets until the payroll day comes.
So, celebrate and recognize your punctual team members.
How to make your own memes?
Not happy with all these memes I uploaded for you? No worries, I’ll teach you how to generate yours.
There are multiple meme generators out there, like Imgflip and Kapwing, but I prefer and use, for example, AI tools. So, I used Perplexity AI, ChatGPT, and Canva’s meme generator.
I had to use Perplexity AI and ChatGPT mixed, as Perplexity is an AI tool I use for idea generation, and ChatGPT for image generation. You need to know beforehand that I have a paid Perplexity account and a free account for ChatGPT, which limits your image generation to about 5 images.
The Perplexity AI and ChatGPT mix
Step 1: Brief the AI about what you need to do
I told the AI that I was working on an article on attendance memes, and I needed some ideas for a specific topic: Meeting attendance. I also briefed Perplexity to reply back to me in a format in which it gives me a quote that I can quote in the memes and also an image idea.
Here’s one of the ideas that Perplexity gave me.
Step 2: Go to ChatGPT and feed it with the above information
I went to ChatGPT and fed it what I wanted. Remember, you can play around with AI in many ways. For example, I could have been super specific here with ChatGPT and briefed it with the exact colors I wanted, with a realistic or cartoonish image design, or resembling a certain actor from The Office. Almost anything is possible here, and you just need to be very specific.
The result? Pretty good, isn’t it?
The Canva meme generator
Honestly, Canva, with new AI features, works seamlessly. You just need to have an idea, choose a template, and browse through some elements. It’s so intuitive to use that it makes it super easy for you to use.
You can also add your own images to a template with a certain image that’s viral at the moment, and you’ll get a cool meme in no time.
Here’s a preview of my screen trying to make a meme on my own. I just chose a template and then edited the text. That was about it! All you need to do is just access Canva’s meme generator.
